PrinterAdmin Print Job
Manager can keep track of account print quotas
(balance or number of pages allocated to users).
When print quotas are exceeded, jobs are paused or
automatically canceled.
Step 1.
In Preferences --> Printers, set the base cost per
page. For example, you set the base cost per page on
the black and white page to be 0.10 and to the color
page set it to be 50% more at 0.15.
Or
Click button "Paper Size Charging / Fixed Cost"
to set the cost of B/W and Color page by paper size.
Step 2.
In Preferences --> Policies, select the following
options.
For example, if
a printer's base cost per page is 0.10 and print quota for
each user is 200 pages, then set the initial balance
of 20.00. When a new user prints 5 pages of black &
white, the username is added to Preferences ->
Users/Groups automatically and the user's remaining
balance is 20.00 - 5 * 0.10 = 19.50. The
balance can be reallocated daily, weekly, monthly or
on the dates you defined.
Step 3.
In Preferences --> Users/Groups, the
username can be added to the list automatically when
users print the first time. Whenever users print,
their balances are deducted by the print job cost.
Step 4 (Optional). For the best result
of "Print Quotas" feature, also try
Print Confirmation
or
Print
Authentication.
Note:
The print quota can also be allocated by the
user's group. In Preferences -> Users/Groups, click
"Edit Group", create a group "GroupName | Balance",
then assign users to that group. In Preferences ->
Policies -> Balance, select "Reset balance based on
the group".
