Online Demo -- Save and View the Content of Print Jobs       

 

Step 1. Install PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager on the print server that has the printer shared. See Option 1: Install PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager on your Windows print server e.g. \\PrintServer. On Windows print server, go to "Devices and Printers", right click the printer -> Properties, uncheck "Render print jobs on client computers". In Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Services, restart the Print Spooler Service.

Step 2. In Preferences --> Print Jobs, select "Save the content of printed jobs for viewing".

Step 3. Send a print job to the shared printer \\printserver\printer from a workstation.

Step 4. In PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager --> Printed Jobs, double click the print job to view the content.

Common Issues:

1. The format of current printer driver is not supported or you are unable to view the content clearly.

A. In the "Properties" of printer or in the "Printing Preferences", use "EMF Spooling", then restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service) and test again.

B. If A doesn't work, use PostScript printer driver, select "Enable Advanced Printing" and change the data type from RAW to NT EMF 1.008 in the properties of the printer -> Advanced --> Print Processor, then restart the Print Spooler service (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service) and test again.

C. If B doesn't work, use PCL printer driver, select or unselect "Enable Advanced Printing" in the properties of the printer -> Advanced, then restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service) and test again.

D. If C doesn't work, use XPS printer driver, select "Enable Advanced Printing" in the properties of the printer -> Advanced, download http://printeradmin.com/download/fileformat.zip and extract the blank file xps to C:\Program Files\PrinterAdmin Software\PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager\config\ , then restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service) and test again.

If you still can't see the content of the print job, please email the name of printer driver to support@printeradmin.com

2. The content file can't be found

Install PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager on the print server that has the printer shared. See Option 1: Install PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager on your Windows print server e.g. \\PrintServer.

Check if the spool file format is #####.spl where ##### is the number (for example 00002.spl) in the content directory e.g. C:\Program Files\PrinterAdmin\PrinterAdmin Print Job Manager\content\.  If it shows FP#####, please follow the instructions below to turn off Spool File Pooling on the print server, then send a print job again.

On Windows print server,      

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  4. In the New Value #1 box, type DisableServerFilePooling, and then press ENTER.
  5. Right-click DisableServerFilePooling, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 1 to turn off spool file pooling, and then click OK.
  7. Quit Registry Editor.
  8. Restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service)
  9. Send a new print job to test.
